Some details about LIFI

INTRODUCTION

Explaining Li-Fi would be easier than explaining Wi-Fi. Just tell them about the new technology where light can transport data.

The great data transfers can be achieved.

The security will be increased. You would never have to worry that somebody will steal your Li-Fi because it doesn't transmit through the walls. You can have a safe network inside your room, without fear of being hacked.

Basically, the principle of Li-Fi is very simple: Turn on LED for 0, Turn off LED for 1. The data will transform to binary code, transmit in form of light and then turn to data again in your computer.

Here some neat explain of LIFI shown below.
1. Firstly, tell him how basic data is transmitted using the concept of switches. Switch on and off sends the data in the form of 1's and 0's.

2. Then take a switch connected to a light bulb and switching it on and off. Tell him that if you can put a clock frequency to this setup, you might be receiving messages in Morse Code.

3. Gradually increase the frequency of switching & tell him that now as you are increasing the rate of switching the light, more and more data can be sent in a short period of time.

Now comes the main thing.

4. Tell him that scientists are trying to speed up this frequency to very high rates so that they can use it to send data via light transmissions.

5. The reason for opting Li-Fi over Wi-fi is that light has infinite bandwidth and can be used in public places without any case of radiation exposure. (Remember! Wifi causes exposure to radiation similar to your cellphones).
